Lovely rain yesterday, suitably attired I walked the larger dog, Jules, in the forest, but the smaller one, Noubia, decided to stay at home.

Haven't had a decent BBC or ITV signal for days now, it can't just be the weather so I am thinking of a bigger dish now.

After yesterday's wet, windy start, today is glorious. It's sunny and calm with an autumnal nip in the air.

Survived the deluge with no major problems. Looks like 13 is in for it today - red alert for rain and flooding.

Lots of rain with us yesterday - still with us but only light rain now. Some rumbles and at some stage we must have had some real gusts since a few things have blown over that I would not have expected to be affected - like a half full dustbin (and half full with bags of used cat litter so not light).

We had a lot of rain over the last couple of days - but today's been sunny but chilly. Looks like more rain on the way judging by the sky at the moment.

I don't care though we've got our central heating all back up and running so it's nice and cosy indoors now. :D

Three years ago I purchased a reconditioned rayburn cooker/boiler, got a new hw cylinder for solar/ boiler, coming next week I am going to try burning wood pellets on it, after much research it should work.
Why so long after buying I hear you all say.
Well if you'de all known we just a little of what weve gone through it would explain.
So soon its back to my first training, hope I havn't forgotten to much.

Now you all can go back to the thread. :(

We've got a special tray for pellets that we put in our old franco belge cuisinier which is what runs the central heating, but they don't seem to work brilliantly, we certainly couldn't run the heating entirely on them alone. The pellets are quite good at keeping the heat ticking over once it's been running for a while though. :D

Don't forget Char that modern pellet burners need electricity (I think), so if you have to throw out your wood burner for the space to install it, what are you going to do if a storm cuts out all the power...........for weeks. :?: :o

The only reason we went for air to air, we could keep the wood burner, just in case. ;) :D

Butting in, no they don't at least not all. We have an old wood burning stove kept from way back and in good condition, have a new insert to burn pellets and are going to install it in our conservatory now being done out of old porcheries, same with the rayburn just need a perferated plate in the bottom.
Ok a specialist dedicated stove would need power.
Going back to the rayburn, it will heat up the cyclinder plus a heatsink rad in a bathroom along with the underfloor heating in the lounge ( when Ive done it) as that just needs continuous low water heat not like radiators.
