I guess Adams only lived there for a year as the noise and pressure of the tourists would have driven him off. :D Daughter lives in a flat on the ouderzijds Achterburgwal where I spent a year on assignment in Haarlem. It has changed again since then (2013) with traffic bans and some control over the numbers of tourists, but such pleasant walks through the alleys tipping the hat to the lovely ladies in the red lights and downing a few beers on a terrace.
