2026 Tax return is open and it’s changed again

#11 Post by Sparkle »

Well I took the plunge this morning and completed the form. All the accounts that were previously on the 3916 were all there on the new form. I did find some differences and although terrified it didn't go too badly. The only difference was that having ticked the 8SH & 8SI boxes, somewhere further in the forms I was then asked to fill in 8TV & 8QV which I've never done before! Anyhow all seems to agree with my calculations so I hope it will be OK ! Now feeling very relieved we're off for a Kir - french version not persian :D

@Headers oh hec - nightmare, maybe the ticked box for 'Comptes Contrats ou Placements a l'etranger' didn't connect with the system ? I went so slowly and checked and rechecked every box before I moved to the next page even though I was desperate to race through it to get it done and dusted.

Did you complete section 9 on 2047? If it was for government pensions, they go in section 6.

oops we don't have government pensions - I wonder why they asked us to complete these boxes ?

Normally we trot off up the impot with a very short list of our income, both our state UK pensions and my 1 private pension so not much to enter but it leaves me cold. This year it turns out to be more than a day out, Canterbury, where we now live, to Saumur, bit of a trek so will have to try and do it myself. It's amazing what comes out of the woodwork when winding up in France to move back here. Mystery debits from the bank account from unknown claimants, who hide behind any obstacle so as not to reveal their identity, and CA don't go out of their way to get things recredited. Thankfully the bulk of the house sale funds are firmly in our UK bank accounts now, away from the plethora of French hands wishing to take their cut.
