Would I lie to you?

#1 Post by hughnique »

I noticed a Narrative a couple of weeks ago regarding a spat on live TV between that Nigel Forage, and the governor of the bank of England, Andrew Bailey. This was supposedly on Question time and concerned Nigel's accusation that the banking fraternity were keeping quiet about higher interest rates for those with a few grand to invest, whilst us minions were strapped with 30% interest on credit cards and if we were lucky enough to have a few pence to invest were offered paltry rates about the 2% mark. It culminated in Andrew Bailey ripping of his mike and storming of set. Well all very distressing but if the narrative accompanying this tale was read to the finish, a organisation was discreetly mentioned where fantastic rates of interest could be achieved for the deposit of a miserable £250, but membership was limited so register immediately. Having looked through the registration process, it seemed there was nothing clandestine, just an e-mail address and a phone number so as on of their advisors could take you through the process and sort out your investment. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Within half an hour I did receive a call from an advisor, but in that 30 minute delay I had managed to uncover various reports about this company and it's dubious activities, so the beginning of the conversation was that I was not interested as I had discovered it was a scam, obviously all denied by the salesman, whom I could not shake off, so I put the phone down, bugger me if he didn't phone straight back and continue with his sales pitch, that finished in him advising me to F--k off, which I duly obliged.
But then we have the same story coming up but this time it's Bailey and Matt Allwright, then Bailey and Jeremy Vine, all of which have been vociferously denied, by the associated production companies and have been labelled as AI, but still this META continues to post these pantomimes with a slight change of cast members. Somewhere along the line someone is going to get shafted by these unscrupulous buggers

This AI crap is where all the big investment has been going in recent years, along with the cash that is building these huge data centers that promise to squeeze every last bit of juice out of the power grids while raising prices and using the water people need to stay alive. Get on board, people. Times they are a changin'.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

The moral of the story is that it's safer and wiser to invest with a company you know something about, or by recommendation of someone you trust. Offers like "fantastic rates of interest could be achieved for the deposit of a miserable £250" sound too good to be true, and are very likely to be a scam.
Would you really be happy to invest your money with an anonymous voice on the end of a phone ? I wouldn't !
