Weather ... again

While we were watching the eclipse the other night, we wondered how it would have been received all those thousands of years ago before anyone understood what it was. The sky would get darker, it would feel like the sun was being devoured by the moon, and maybe all who noticed it prayed like mad for the sun to come back .....then, lo and behold! The sun returned, the praying worked, Alleluja! Praying works!! And so it began ....

It’s been posited for a very long time that the third world war would be about water.

There are other candidates for this, of course, but water continues to be up there - and is probably a nose ahead in at this time of drought in Europe.

The other day, at the height of the canicule, I put our stove fan on the slate table in the courtyard and it set off.
