Quite right Dominic and the theory that an old paper licence lasts forever is incorrect, until her 70th birthday, then she can't drive, the position my OH finds herself in now.

I take it you are referring to UK licences, French paper ones were for life. That's why I advised my wife to change at the same time as me, to avoid the British medicals after 70, to renew.

The only reason mine is now plastic, and limited to 15 years, is because of frequent medicals to keep the PL entitlement.

My neighbour who is in his 70s has a paper one with a photo taken when he was 21 :lol:
