I was going to say!
I'll have a cheese 'n onion sandbag - we eat at lunchtime.

Now that made my mouth water, can I come to dinner?Liz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:51 pm Tonight for starters I'm doing smoked a mackerel salad with beetroot, a shallot & beetroot dressing, greenery and horseradish cream blobs around the edge (though it probably won't look like the pic on the recipe)
Then roast leg of lamb spiked with garlic, with red wine gravy, roast spuds & parsnips, spiced red cabbage & apple, yellow carrots & peas.
For pud butterscotch cake with creme fraiche & ice cream (either or both, but they will all go for both I bet!)
Champagne for apéros, an Alsace Riesling with the mackerel, a Beaujolais with the lamb and a Bergerac Rosette with the pud. Hic.
That's not a normal Monday night supper for us I hasten to add, and I'm not just doing it for the two of us!

Love moules, mariniere classique or with coconut milk & coriander à la Madhur Jaffrey. With frites of course!
How do people live without at least one dog in the house?

I used to love making moules marinière, but I haven’t been able to eat them for about 10 years.

We shall be having the other half of the chicken and mushroom pie I made yesterday with whatever not quite rotting fresh vegetables Intermarche might tempt me with! And gravy.

Re-heated beef stew I made in the Crockpot the other day, not that Fran will eat much of it, she seems to be a reformed carnivore these days and what she leaves usually ends up the next day inside me, or the dogs.
But I might add a few steamed vegetables to it.
