Re: Covid in UK
I was reading 20% of negative PCRs are false negatives - unless the infection is nasopharyngeal it will not get detected by a PCR test.
We still have much to learn - and I suspect my ongoing issues may actually be have been caused by Covid in the thoracic region.
And get well soon, Pathca.

Thanks - although in my case it seems to be more demyelination of the nerves.

Pathca Hospital staff are very vulnerable both physically and mentally and the stresses and strains of caring for others can take its toll.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery !
niemeyjt There are still so many unknowns about Covid which seems to have completely random effects on those it touches, making it very difficult for medical folk to know exactly what they're dealing with. I hope you gt sorted out soon ....
We are never given details of the cases and hospitalisations : age, comorbidity, vaccinated or unvaccinated ...
OH and I both had sore throats last week but suspected we were about to get colds, which we did. A PCR test (nasal) at the vax centre where we work was negative, as was the nasopharyngeal one in St Helier last Friday.
Everyone wore masks and was protected last winter, so it's not surprising that the bugs will return with a vengeance this winter.

Re: Covid in UK
The NHS are begging for additional measures to be introduced (plan B) The govt are saying "now is not the time". Well when is the right time? Has the govt learnt nothing in the past 18mths and that it is better to act early.

Re: Covid in UK
The Uk government shot itself in the foot when they said there would be no more lockdowns etc ,they can’t do an about face without upsetting a big chunk of the population,if they don’t do an about face they will upset a different big chunk, should have left options open
