Does anyone like the proms?
Last night bbc 2 started broadcasting this years proms.
Yet another cock up with three or four sitting around prattling on long after it started in the Albert Hall with the prom being deferred whilst doing it.
Being as it was live on bbc3 radio I turned over to listen.
What is it these days? Same with the foot and rugby, half an hour prattling before, then an hour after.

Re: Uk tv
TV for me has gone down the pan. Very little is new. Mostly repeats or recycled American stuff. I hate anything to do with sports so that doesn't leave much.
On my headstone it will say: Please switch off mobile phones. I'm trying to get some sleep.

Re: Uk tv
We watched The Wheel last night which is quite entertaining. We don't know what the other offering prior to this was like. Something called "The Wowl"
But yes, generally rubbish or repeats but occasionally it's possible to fish out a good documentary on Smithsonian, PBS or one of the other weird and wonderful channels.

Is this the one with Edward Fox in it, if so a big mistake was made in the scene after he had killed the woman in the hotel room and pinched her car, he is seen miles from anywhere respraying the car using a 12 volt spray gun, the model he is actually using is a "Burgess" 250 volt one.demi wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:59 amOne of my favourite films & so true to the book.basquesteve wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 12:21 am Nothing to watch on UK TV to night but watched The day of the Jackal 1973 what a great movie 48 years old

Well one of you is wrong, it’s either true to the book or he killed the woman in an hotel, it can’t be both.Spectrum wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 11:41 amIs this the one with Edward Fox in it, if so a big mistake was made in the scene after he had killed the woman in the hotel room and pinched her car, he is seen miles from anywhere respraying the car using a 12 volt spray gun, the model he is actually using is a "Burgess" 250 volt one.demi wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 8:59 amOne of my favourite films & so true to the book.basquesteve wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 12:21 am Nothing to watch on UK TV to night but watched The day of the Jackal 1973 what a great movie 48 years old![]()
