The afore said pork is beautiful. Got it because for the first time in years I didn't turn it into a jambon crue.

It's funny people are posting about boeuf bourguignon. We have friends coming for lunch, a Brit couple we met fairly recently who live hear us, and I've made a beef stew with loads of red wine in it. It's pouring with rain and very windy and feels quite wintry ... I don't eat red meat, but I shall enjoy the gravy with the veg ! Gratin dauphinois with lots of garlic and cream .... yum !

I can't be bothered to cook anything for myself so I'll have cheese on toast - I get fed up with cooking two different meals at dinnertime.

Fran eats minuscule amounts but she does like ready meals. Trouble is she can't eat a whole one, not even half a one, so I end up with it for lunch the next day. Thus tonight I will be heating one up for us both to share, blanquette de veaux, but I am also steaming a load of fresh veg to go with it.
! will have some cheese, lovely blue from the market with wholemeal bread from the same place, to follow and then a piece of pain au chocolat (but a whirl like a pain au raisin) with yoghurt nature and then a nice petit cafe to finish up with.
By that time Fran might have finished her tiny main portion and will have a small piece of the pain with a can of Fortimel, Believe it or not the Fortimel is the most important element and is free on prescription.
I have water with my meal while she has lemonade. I have to be very careful because she has an awful tendency to pour her milky Fortimel into her glass which becomes a disgusting gooey milky fizzy gunk.

What's for Dinner?
Cold roast chicken from yesterday with cauliflower cheese. There'll still be plenty of chicken to turn into a pie tomorrow.
