BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, etc need separate accounts. To install them on an Android phone you need to have a Google Play account with the location set to the UK. If you run them in a PC web browser you still need a VPN with a UK IP address. The streaming services do checks to make sure you are in the UK and they know of and block some UK VPN servers (some VPN providers, e.g. NordVPN, give lists of their servers known to work with iPlayer). From my Firestick experience, All4 also checks the device time to be set to the current UK time. When I've tried to use the ITVHub the server has often been overloaded so lots of breaks in the viewing while it loads the next part. There are also various restrictions on recording and playback.
Receiving through a satellite is the best way. See this discussion for more information viewtopic.php?p=14076#p14076

We're at the top of bourgogne, and use a 60cm dish, a cheapish LNB, and an old sky decoder - £10 with a remote from Ebay Uk. All works with no mither, but we don't record - sometimes wish we could!!
If you're in France permanently, I can see that being a requirement.

If you have the space/capacity for it, I'd recommend getting a 1m dish. It's not much more price wise, and it gives you maximum "capture" from the start. Then, even if you live in a valley, like us, you'll still get excellent quality and choice. We even get "Dave" these days - a much needed comedy channel!
